From Songshan Station take the Fuxing train towards Su Ao and get off at RuiFang Train Station. Exit the station and walk towards Zushi Temple where you will take bus 788 towards Jinguashih (Gold Ecological Park). Get off at the stop Jiu Fen Old Street and walk towards the entrance where your exploration will begin.
After 45 mins on train and winding bus ride up mountain we find ourselves amongst the crowds to 九份老街 (Jiǔ fèn lǎo jiē). As you enter through the main entrance with the sea of tourist waddling shoulder to shoulder you will see stores of all kinds lining the street. You hear the voice of owners promoting their food and products. I scene most of us living elsewhere miss the most today.
As you continue exploring onward you will see shops selling hand crafted souvenirs and the most adorable baby bottle Guava juice stand. Then towards the end of the road you will find tea houses to rest your feet and enjoy some snacks and specialty teas.
